National Student Clearinghouse, TALX Alliance Create Largest Source of Automated Verifications
HERNDON, VA, JULY 30, 2002 - The National Student Clearinghouse, the nation's largest, most trusted source for post-secondary student degree and enrollment verification services, announces today that it has formed a strategic alliance with TALX Corporation that combines both firm's capabilities into a single source of automated verifications for employment, income and academic credentials.
The exclusive alliance adds degree and enrollment verifications via DegreeVerify, the leading educational verification service, to The Work Number®, the leading employment and income verification service, creating the industry's largest, most comprehensive source of automated verifications.
The Clearinghouse's DegreeVerify currently provides degree verification services for 285 post-secondary institutions, which grant more than 20 percent of the nation's degrees. The Work Number provides employment and income verifications for over 700 employers, including more than half of the Fortune 100.
The Work Number clients will now have a single source for verifications, eliminating the need to enter repetitive data and providing the convenience of a single application for employment, income and education verifications. The alliance also expands client access options for DegreeVerify customers to include Intelligent Voice Recognition (IVR) in addition to the existing on-line web and Web Services options.
"We are pleased to extend The Work Number's capabilities by integrating seamless access to the Clearinghouse's education verification services," said Bill Canfield, CEO and president of TALX. "We believe the combination of the leading employment and income verification service with the leading educational verification service will allow both TALX and the Clearinghouse to extend their market leading positions."
"The Clearinghouse's exclusive partnership with TALX, the undisputed leader in employment and income verification, reaffirms our position as the leading provider of education verification services," said Dan Boehmer, president of the Clearinghouse. "More importantly, extending DegreeVerify access to The Work Number's impressive list of Fortune 1000 clients will play a key role in helping to achieve the Clearinghouse's goal of reducing credentials fraud by increasing the visibility and reach of our services."
